Upcoming Festivals in Armenia 2022

DOLMA / TOLMA Fest - 19 June

Place: Zvartnots Temple, Armavir Province >>

One of the most popular festivals in Armenia. More than 65 variants of tolma filled with mincemeat, basturma, rice, fish, lenten, mushroom, and many other ingredients will be served. Enjoy the excellent dishes and national music, songs and dances. 

RAFTING - 30-31 May

Place:  Tumanyan township, Lori Province >>

The first Armenian Rafting Fest will gathers professional rafting guides from more than 14 countries. The Armenian Rafting Federation will serve over 1,000 participants.

SHEEP SHEARING - 06 June

Place: Syunik Province, Khot Village >>

Annual festival during which  local and international shearing professionals will demonstrate their  mastery. Also, traditional folk dances, music, songs, and delicious traditional food will be performed during the fest. 

Armenian Herbs

HAYBUIS FESTIVAL- 27 June

Place: Yenokavan, Tavush Province >>

The festival of Armenian herbs will be held in the  Apaga Resort, just near to “Yell Extreme Park“. More than 3,200 herbs grow in Armenia. So, visitors will learn many  usage methods, participate in  herbal tea party and cooking classes. 

HAPPY PLANET INTERNATIONAL FEST - 12-19 July

Place: Tsaghkadzor, Kotayk Province >>

International Jazz Day is an annual event which gather international musicians from around the world.  The event will please  the most sophisticated jazz lovers.

YELL EXTREME PARK FESTIVAL - 25 July

 Yell Extreme Park is situated in Yenokavan Village (61 Arajin St), Tavush Province. It is an excellent place for extrem lovers: zip-line, mountain biking, horseback riding and many-many other activities are suggested.

LAVASH DAY

Place: Tsaghkunk Village, Gegharkunik Province

The festival is dedicated to the Lavash – very tasty Armenian flatbread, which is recognized as  UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

HONEY & BERRY - 08-09 August

Place: Berd, Tavush Province

Two-day sweet event during which you will have a chance to taste  and buy different types of local honey and berries, also handmade crafts. Enjoy  Armenian nature, tasty food and jazz concert. 

KHOROVATS / BARBECUE FEST - 22 August

Place: Akhtala, Lori Province

In Armenian barbecue  is called Khorovats. It is absolutely delicious and can be served for  festive occasions. During the fest you will learn many variants of making a khorovats:

  • barbecue in the fireplace
  • barbecue on the horizontal bar
  • barbecue in the tonir (underground oven) and many others.
